In a poem entitled “What I Have Learned So Far,” Mary Oliver shares this thought:
“All summations have a beginning, all effect has a story, all kindness begins with the sown seed. Thought buds toward radiance. The gospel of light is the crossroads of — indolence or action. Be ignited, or be gone.”
Yet the only action indicated for a human being is sowing seeds, and those, ones that result in kindness.
I’m inclined to think that the best resolution for 2013 is to become ignited with sowing seeds of kindness.
